Infusion referral ยท St. Louis

Refer a Patient for IV Infusion in St. Louis

To refer a patient for an IV infusion, call us with the patient’s name, the ordering physician, the infusion order and the patient’s insurance. Our staff confirm coverage, schedule the patient by phone, and send each infusion record back to your office.

What to send

  • Signed order: drug, dose, rate, frequency and total number of doses.
  • Diagnosis and recent office notes.
  • Premedications, required labs and any screening already done (for biologics, tuberculosis screening).
  • Prior authorization number, if your office has obtained it, or the plan details so we can start it.
  • Line details if the patient has a PICC or port: type, placement date and care orders.

What we infuse

IV antibiotics

Scheduled doses for infections that need intravenous treatment, given in a chair instead of a hospital bed.

IV hydration and nutrient infusions

Fluids and electrolytes for dehydration, and physician-ordered nutrient infusions.

Biologic infusions

Infused biologics for rheumatologic conditions, given on the schedule your rheumatologist sets.

Ketamine infusion

IV ketamine for refractory nerve pain such as RSD/CRPS, with monitoring throughout.

Infusions your specialist ordered

Your doctor writes the order; we give the infusion and send the record back.

We do not give chemotherapy.

What your patient gets

  • Infusions directed by an anesthesiologist board certified in pain medicine and addiction medicine.
  • Vital-sign monitoring before, during and after every infusion.
  • An outpatient chair, so a stable patient does not hold a hospital bed for an IV-only drug.
  • A record of each infusion returned to your office.

Coverage is checked before your first infusion. Many infusions, biologics in particular, need prior authorization from your plan. An approval is not a promise of payment; your plan still decides each claim.

Questions patients ask

Do you accept referrals from any specialty?

Yes: infectious disease, rheumatology, primary care, surgery, pain medicine and any prescriber whose patient needs one of the infusions we give. See the specialist-ordered infusions page.

Can my patient book online?

No. Staff schedule every infusion by phone so the order and coverage are confirmed first. Patients can call or text us; details on contact.

Do you give the first dose of a biologic?

Yes, with the screening and premedication your order specifies. See biologic infusions.
